Golfing with Private Travel Iceland

EVER THOUGHT OF ICELAND AS A GOLFING DESTINATION?

Have you ever thought of playing golf in the midnight sunset surrounded by lava fields? Or teeing off during the day then to go northern light hunting in the evening? If yes then you should definitely consider Iceland as your next golfing destination.

Playing golf in the dramatic landscape that Iceland has to offer is an adventure you will remember for a lifetime. P.S. You should pack your rain gear because you never know how many variations of weather you will experience during the 18 holes!

Brautarholt Golf Club

The golf course lies in a breath-taking nature set by the sea, with a view to Reykjavik City. The golf course is a fabulous 12-hole golf course that opened in 2012. You have to stay focused whilst playing this course because the beautiful landscape sure isn’t forgiving! Even though the course isn’t 18 holes it is one of the most popular golf courses in Iceland.

Keilir Golf Club

Keilir is a links golf course placed in Hafnafjordur town, 15 minutes from downtown Reykjavik. There is a vast difference between the front nine and the back nine. The Front nine is surrounded by lava, and the back nine is placed on a small peninsula at the entrance into the Hafnafjordur harbour, with spectacular views to Snaefellsjokull glacier and the Alftanes peninsula. Keilir golf course is about skill and accuracy over power and distance, particularly when dealing with the lava field in the front nine.

Vestman Island Golf Club

The golf course is located on the Vestman Islands which are a group of islands of the south coast of Iceland. The course is set in an old volcano. Teeing off against a backdrop of volcanic walls, forever changing wind directions on the same hole and playing across and over the sea is definitely something to cross of the bucket list. The course has a reputation for having the best greens in the country.
