Ancascocha trek is one of the lesser-known trails in the Peruvian Andes.

It takes you into the wilderness of snowcapped mountains, glacial lakes, humid cloud forest and winded lofty passes. Even with its tough trails, the trek is more authentic and off-the-beaten-path.Ancascocha trek offers an opportunity to explore ancient Inca ruins, pass through traditional Andean villages and see unrivaled views of the majestic Andes.You’ll also see some of the highest mountains in Peru such as Humantay & Salkantay dominating the horizon. Although the trek is not a continuous path to Machu Picchu, you can combine it with a visit to the Inca Citadel.
