Nestled on a mountaintop above the Utcubamba River Valley, this fantastic pre-Inca archaeological site was built between 600 and 900 years before Machu Picchu. . Did you know that more than 5,000 people lived here about 1,500 years ago. They were known as the Chachapoyas, or Cloud Warriors. Although the site is now in ruins, you will still see its beautiful and fascinating architectural details. It’s a great place to visit for your dose of Peruvian history.
